FC Nordsjalland assistant coach, Mas-ud Didi Dramani has said Charles Akonnor is not to blame for Ghana's shock defeat to Sudan.

Black Stars were beaten 1-0 in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Omdurman on Tuesday.

A draw or win would have secured Ghana's qualification to the tournament in Cameroon.

“Ghana will surely qualify for Afcon despite losing to Sudan, we should not blame the coach," he said according to Footballmadeinghana.

According to Dramani, Ghanaians should be patient and support Akonnor, who is building his own team after taking over 11 months ago.

“We should support him, We should build the team around the experienced players in the team like Mubarak Wakaso, Andre Ayew, John Boye, Jordan Ayew and the likes for us to get a strong team," he said.

“Building a team is a gradual process so we should take our time for CK Akonnor.

Ghana will qualify should they avoid defeat in remaining games against Sao Tome and Principe and South Africa.
