Doku is destined for greatness via Anderlecht
Jeremy Doku

As an emerging name in football, everything would seem to suggest that Jeremy Doku is an attacking player destined for greatness. Having broken into the Anderlecht first team last season and making 6 league appearances in the process, the supremely talented young forward has enjoyed even more games during the 2019-20 campaign.

However, he could just as easily have been playing at any number of leading European clubs, had his decisions been a little different just a couple of years ago.

According to TalkSport, there were certainly no shortage of options available to Doku. Although he was already signed to Anderlecht, there were visits to Liverpool a couple of years ago, with German coach Jurgen Klopp apparently a huge admirer of the young winger. Nevertheless, with the support and advice of his agency, the player of Ghanaian heritage opted to stay put in Belgium.

No football player worth their salt would consider an offer from just any club, without checking out what’s on offer and what to expect when they get there. Ideally, the choice of club should be based around the development needs and ambitions of the player.

Fortunately for Doku, he is represented by Stellar Group, an international agency working with some of the biggest names in football amongst their clients. They offer important support and advice, helping their clients along every step of the way during their careers.

Although not all of us can be sporting superstars with such high-profile support, whenever we’re looking to play online games we enjoy such as poker and slots, at least it’s good to know there are review sites like CasinoWings.com we can put to good use, helping to guide us in the right direction.

They believe that choosing the right casino and opening offer should always be something specific to you. That’s actually not too dissimilar to when a footballer is considering their next transfer move, looking for the best options.

Former Manchester City icon Vincent Kompany was appointed as player-manager at the start of the season, although Anderlecht made one of their worst ever starts. While the veteran defender stepped back and focused on his role as team captain, former head coach Frank Vercauteren returned to the club to assume managerial duties.

Both have placed a great deal of faith in Doku, who has repaid them with quality individual performances, despite the frustrating overall results the team has achieved in the Belgian First Division.

Given that his importance in the team has grown, so has the continued interest from clubs in major leagues around Europe. Indeed, it’s not hard to imagine him cashing in his chips at Anderlecht at some point in the future, although the player himself appears conscious that it’s wise to bide his time.

There’s no rush to depart and having agreed a new contract recently, he seems aware that honing his talents and being patient is the best approach for now.

Should the ability of Doku continue to shine in Belgium, there’s absolutely no doubt that some of the biggest clubs in Europe will eventually come knocking on the door.

This would ultimately benefit both the player and his club, with Anderlecht able to command a sizeable transfer fee, while the player gets to make his choice of move with the benefit of good support behind his decision.

Whether it’s the Premier League in England, La Liga in Spain, Bundesliga in Germany, or Serie A in Italy; it seems inevitable that Doku will get his crack at one of the biggest leagues in Europe at some point in the next few years.
