Former Asante Kotoko right back Michael Ofosu Appiah has picked Bernard Don Bortey at the best winger during their playing days.

The defender who had to confront the former Hearts of Oak winger in many of the rivalry games between the two Ghanaian heavyweights revealed there was no better winger than Don Bortey.

"Dong Bortey was an outstanding left-winger in our days," Michael Ofosu Appiah affectionately known as CID told Sikka Sports.

Bernard Don Bortey has been in the news for several reasons in the past week, including a social media argument about who was the best between him and former teammate Charles Taylor.

Ofosu Appiah had a good battle with the winger especially in the CAF Confederation Cup final first leg where he marked him out of the game.

Both players were successful as their clubs with Bortey winning multiple league titles and the Confederations Cup with Hearts of Oak.
