Dreams FC are not striving to replicate the feet chalked by Aduana Stars in 2009 after gaining promotion into the Ghana Premier League according to head coach C.K. Akonnor.

The Dormaa-based side after gaining promotion into the Ghana Premier League in 2009 and subsequently won the title in 2010.

But the former Black Stars captain has played down talks that his side will be replicating such feet despite their flamboyant start to the season.

Speaking to GHANAsoccernet.com, Akonnor acknowledged the wonderful performance of Aduana Stars in 2009 but said his side is different from them.

“I wouldn’t say that. We are different and seriously, our target is to stay in the league for the first season.

Our aim is not to win the league. Our primary aim is to remain in the league for the next season” he said.

He was however quick to say that if the opportunity comes for them to win the league, his charges will not hesitate to do so.

“But once the title is given to us at the end of the season, we shall embrace it.”

“We don’t think it is possible so we are not aiming at that. We will not concentrate on that to thwart our aim.”
