Philemon McCarthy became the first goalkeeper to score in this season’s Ghana Premier League as Dreams FC beat New Edubiase United 2-0 on Wednesday in Dawu.

The former Ghana international gave the debutants the lead on 55 minutes when he kicked a long ball into the net.

This was after he had denied the relegation side the opener.

McCarthy was signed during the second transfer window after leaving WAFA SC where he was down the pecking order.

Veteran Eric Gawu added the second to seal the win for the newboys.
