Dusseldorf coach praises Kelvin Ofori after impressive performance against Alemannia Aachen

Dusseldorf youth coach Nico Michaty has praised Ghanaian footballer Kelvin Ofori following his outstanding performance for the U-23 side in their game against Alemannia Aachen in the Regional League.

The 19-year old struggled against SV Straelen (0: 2) and at VfB Homberg (1: 3) but helped his side to keep a clean sheet with his performance.

The Ghanaian footballer who has played just few minutes for the senior side is currently with the youth team to get more playing time.

“That was the best performance that Kelvin has shown for us this season”, praised U23 coach Nico Michaty

“He tried to implement all the things that we gave him on the way - simply to play, to play defensively. Kelvin has integrated really well into the team. "

Above all, Ofori left the ball at the right moment - with a few exceptions." He has to learn to play football not only for himself but with the team; offensively and defensively. He did it well, ”said Michaty.

A quick return to the second division squad is unlikely. “Kelvin is a great talent. We all still have the hope that he will prevail ”, said head coach Rösler recently.

“At the moment he only gets playing time with the U23. There, of course, it has to stand out. That's the criterion for playing for me again. ”The catch: Ofori didn't stand out in Aachen. A step in the right direction was definitely his performance.
