Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah has revealed interest in playing for the senior national team of Ghana, leaving his doors opened for a Black Stars call up.
In an interview with the Beautiful Game Podcast, the England youth international discussed his international future, which has prompted fellow English-born Ghanaian Callum Hudson-Odoi to consider his time with the Three Lions.
"Of course it is a possibility. I’m open to both, playing for Ghana and playing for England as well," Nketiah told The Beautiful Game podcast when asked about the move to play for the Black Stars.
"It’s always good to have the opportunity to potentially do that," the youngster added.
Just like Nketiah, Hudson-Odoi was born and raised in London to Ghanaian parents and has even made three appearances for England.
However, his future with the 1966 World Champions seems bleak after missing Euros 2020, and a couple of senior national team invites.
The Ghana Football Association has started the process on getting European-born Ghanaian players to feature for the Black Stars at the World Cup in Qatar.
Nketiah latest statement reveals the FA is on track in their quest to get these players, and Hudson-Odoi could be the next high-profile player to switch nationality.
