New Edubiase United FC have put all transfer talks relating to the league’s leading scorer Emmanuel Baffour on hold.

This is to allow the 22-year concentrate on making the grade for a place in the 23-man squad for the Nations Cup finals next month in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Local giants AshantiGold and Hearts of Oak have both officially registered their interests in him.

Baffour admitted on a local radio station he would prefer to join Hearts of Oak if they meet his valuation.

However club president Abdul Salam Yakubu says the club wants the striker to focus on his biggest assignment of his career.

"We sat down yesterday with Baffour and made it clear to him that he needs to focus attention on making the final 23 cut for the Nations Cup," Yakubu told Accra-based Peace FM.

Baffour has been named in a provisional 25-man squad to begin preparations in Rustenburg, South Africa on 7 January.

He has scored 11 goals in 12 matches.
