The New Edubiase team has received several pledges of huge financial rewards if they beat AshantiGold in the finals of the MTN FA Cup.

The Berkwai-based club are in a great position to cap off their most impressive season in the Ghanaian top flight by winning a silverware against the Miners on Sunday.

Edubiase missed out on a top four finish by virtue of an inferior head-to-head record against Medeama but have made amends with their relative success in this year’s FA Cup competition and are now at the threshold of absolute success.

Therefore various officials and sympathizers are splashing the cash and making several pledges of more rewards just to pep the team up for victory against AshGold at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“We received a combined sum of Ghc 30,000 from Hon. David Lamptey (SIDALCO) to be shared amongst the players and the technical team,” Edubiase President Abdul-Salam Yakubu told Asempa FM.

“Therefore each member of the team received Ghc 1000 and they were very excited.

“He has made another promise of a similar but bigger gesture to the team if they beat AshGold this Sunday.”

An unconfirmed financial package of Ghc 5000 per player is said to have been put in place by the team’s sponsors and and officials to reward the players if they win the trophy at the Accra Sports stadium on Sunday.
