Board Member of Hearts of Oak Alhaji Brimah Akambi has disclosed that Edward Odoom has been named the club’s substantive coach.

The Phobians have been without a substantive head coach after Coach Kim Grant was sacked in December last year.

Nii Odoom was given the nod as an interim coach, guiding the team to 9th spot on the Ghana Premier League long with 17 points after 12 games.

Report went widespread earlier in the week that the Accra-based giants are on the verge of giving the job to Ibrahim Tanko and Stephen Appiah.

However, Akambi has poured scorn on the report, revealing that Nii Odoom has been given the nod as head coach.

"Point of correction, I don't think anybody told you that Edward Odoom was a stop gab coach,” Akambi disclosed to Gabriel Obu of Zylofon FM.

“We brought him as our coach so that's the point of correction am trying to put out there. Odoom is our head coach. Currently, we have our head coach and he is the one doing the job.”

Despite fans protestation last week in the wake of the 1-1 draw against Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium, Nii Odoom is expected to lead the team when they play as guests to Inter Allies on Matchday 13 on Sunday.
