Board member of Egyptian side Al Ittihad Hesham Hassam has described Yahaya Mohammed as the perfect striker for the club.

The former Asante Kotoko talisman is on a season-long loan move from Libyan side Al Ittihad Tripoli due to the political unrest in the country.

Yahaya absconded to sign a pre-contract with the Libyan outfit without informing Kotoko who own his registration and economic rights.

This led to his suspension and later released by the Ghanaian champions.

Hassam says the highly talented but controversial striker who can also play in midfield will add another dimension to their game.

“Yahaya Mohammed is player we have monitored for some time and his physical presence and technique in the game is exactly what we are looking for,” he said.

“He is a good goal getter and we hope he settles in well in accordance with the ideas of the Coach.”

Mohammed began his career with Tema Youth in 2006 before being loaned to French Ligue 1 side Nice.
