Elmina Sharks FC have appointed ex-Ghana international Nii Odartey Lamptey as interim coach with immediate effect, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

Sharks announced they have parted ways with head coach Yaw Acheampong on Thursday following a run of poor results.

Acheampong left the club alongside his assistant Felix Aboagye and goalkeepers' coach Nana Mbrah.

The Elmina based side are currently searching for a substantive head coach.

Lamptey is the owner of Glow Lamp Academy in Elmina and will be in charge of Sharks until a new head coach is announced.

Lamptey played for Aston Villa, RSC Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven, Coventry City amongst others during his heydays.
