Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, the president of Elmina Sharks, has been fined GHS10,000 and handed a suspended three-month ban by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee for his conduct during his club’s match against Swedru All Blacks United FC.

The committee found Dr. Nduom guilty of interfering with the game, inciting players against match officials, and making social media comments that encouraged hostility towards referees.

Reports indicate that during the game, Dr. Nduom entered the team’s technical area without authorisation and was seen gesturing aggressively towards the officials following a decision that went against Elmina Sharks.

His post-match comments on social media further fueled tensions, as he criticised officiating in a manner deemed to provoke fans and players. As part of the sanctions, he has been warned that any future violations will lead to stricter punishment, including a potential stadium ban.

Elmina Sharks have also been instructed to educate their management and staff on respecting match officials and the integrity of the game. Dr. Nduom has seven days to appeal the decision.
