Ghanaian striker Elvis Manu has expressed his delight after shaking off an injury to score for Akhisar Genclik Spor in their 3-0 win over Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super lig on Sunday.

Manu was a doubt ahead of the match after he unable to train consistently with his teammates due to injury he picked up last week.

The 25-year-old however shook off the injury to make the matchday squad for the crucial clash against Fenerbahce at the Spor Toto Akhisar Stadium.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion forward emerged from the bench to hit the back of the twine to double his side's lead after Jeremy Bokila had given them the advantage in the 26th minute.

Substitute Tunisian forward Adrien Regattin put the game to bed with his 94th minute strike.

"I was absent all week because of my treatment, I came two days ago and I wanted to play our teacher Fenerbahce match. 3-0 a fair result," he said.

"Also was an important match for us. After the first golden Fenerbahce defense we knew we will find gaps. Thank God we won." he concluded his words.

Manu has scored 4 goals in 13 games for the club in the ongoing Turkish top flight league.
