Emery maintains Gunners belief

Unai Emery has told his Arsenal squad not to give up hope as they chase a top-four finish in the Premier League, despite a potentially costly second successive defeat.

The Gunners were beaten 3-2 at home by Crystal Palace last weekend and followed that up by being beaten 3-1 at Wolves on Wednesday evening, leaving Arsenal down in fifth place in the standings - a point behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

We have the possibility - it's not in our hands, but we'll continue with the possibilities.

However, Emery says now is not the time for panic of a loss of focus and effort, with the Gunners also still involved in the Europa League, which could also offer a route back into the Champions League.

The Spaniard told reporters: "It's our target, a difficult target. We have the possibility - it's not in our hands, but we'll continue with the possibilities.

"We lost today, we lost on Sunday and we are very disappointed for that, but we need to continue.

"We have two competitions, one is the Premier League and the second is the Europa League. That's two ways to get into the Champions League, our objective.

"We need to continue being strong in our mentality, strong with our confidence, strong in our capacity."

Next up for the Gunners is a trip to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City on Sunday, with the meeting of the two sides in the capital earlier this season having finished in a 3-1 win for the hosts.

Arsenal are 11/8 to win the game on Sunday, with the draw available at 12/5, while the Londoners are 13/10 to secure a top-four finish come the end of the season.
