Emil Krafth STALLS on £2.7m move to Basaksehir after starting against Arsenal

Newcastle full back Emil Krafth has stalled on a £2.7m move to Istanbul Basaksehir after he started against Arsenal on Monday.

Reports earlier this month claimed that the Turkish club were closing in on the Swedish defender, who has not been a regular in Steve Bruce's starting XI this season.

However, after Krafth played 90 minutes in the 3-0 defeat against the Gunners this week as Bruce rung the changes, the right back is considering staying at the club he has been at since 2019.

The 26-year-old, who moved to St James' Park for £5m from French side Amiens SC 18 months ago, has made five appearances in the Premier League this season.

Krafth has found himself often acting as back-up to American DeAndre Yedlin in his time at Newcastle so far, hence speculation linking him with a move away this month.

But the player himself is now evaluating all his options after his first league start on Monday since December 12.

He will be hoping to be involved in the Magpies' next clash at Aston Villa in the league on Saturday night as Bruce's side aim to find some much-needed form.
