Emmanuel Clottey took his goal tally in the CAF Champions League to six after helping Berekum Chelsea reach the group stage in their debut in the continent's most prestigious club competition.

He has scored six of Chelsea's 12 goals so far in the competition to lead the goal scorers' chart in the competition.

And he scored one of Chelsea's crucial goals in their 2-1 win on Sunday against Coton Sport to extend that qualified them to the mini-league which guarantees them a $400,000 prize money.

The striker started his fine scoring form when he got a brace in their preliminary round 3-0 win against Liberia’s LISCR.

Clottey followed up with a hat-trick at home in their 5-0 win against Raja Casablanca of Morocco in the first round.

"We are excited and me for instance, it's my first shot at the Champions League. I am happy with the performance. The quality of players we have gives me hope that we can go to the finals and win the cup," Clottey said.

The competition takes almost two months off before returning with six group matches and then a two-legged semi-final and final.
