Emmanuel Frimpong has welcome new Ghana coach Avram Grant

Ex-Arsenal star Emmanuel Frimpong has expressed good wishes for incoming Ghana coach Avram Grant just hours after the former Chelsea manager was announced as new coach by the Ghana Football Association.

The Ghana Football Association announced in a press conference its decision to pick 59-year-old as new coach to replace the sacked Kwesi Appiah.

The GFA said the Israeli is their first choice ahead of the Spaniard Juan Ignacio Martinez and former Switzerland assistant coach Michel Pont.

Frimpong, who now plays in the Russian Premier League FK Ufa, took to Twitter to express his good wishes to Grant.

"Avram Grant as new Ghana manager??.. Interesting Wishing him the best anyways," he tweeted.

Grant took Chelsea to the final of the 2008 European Champions League and also had a four year spell in charge of the Israeli national team.

It will be the second time grant is going to be in charge of a national side after handing his country's national team - Israeli, between 2002 and 2006.
