Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Gyasi emerged the hero for Spezia Calcio after scoring a late winning goal in their 2-1 victory over Salernitana in the Italian Serie B on Sunday.
Antonio Ragusa put Spezia ahead after just five minutes on the clock when he connected to Guilio Maggiore’s low cross.
Salernitana stayed in the game with the hope of grabbing the equalizer but could not convert the chances that came their way.
The visitors’ efforts were undone in the 73rd minute when Emmanuel Gyasi poked in a goal from close range to hand Spezia a 2-0 advantage.
Salernitana got a consolation in the match through Lamin Jallow in the 85th minute.
Gyasi enjoyed the entire duration of the encounter for the victors while Moses Odjer warmed the bench for the losers.
