Emmanuel Osei Kuffour laments 'unfair' Dwarfs ban

Former Ebusua Dwarfs star Emmanuel Osei Kuffour has described the Ghana Football Association's 12-match home ban to the club as 'unfair'.

The Disciplinary Committee descended heavily on the Cape-Coast based side on Tuesday after charging them with fans misconduct which resulted in the beating up of a referee and his assistants last month.

Kuffour, a mercurial player at the Robert Mensah Stadium from 1994 to 1997, says the punishment does not commensurate with their offence.

"I don't think this violence is part of the game and they (the fans) are not right. The DC should look at this very well because the ban for 12 matches is unfair,'' Kuffour told Accra-based Pravda Radio.

"This will be very difficult for Ebusua Dwarfs especially the supporters and the team because they will be playing home matches away from home.

''It is getting to end of the league and when you are playing home matches away from home, it’s very difficult.

''This is because the other opponent coming to meet you will feel that they are playing on a neutral ground.''

Dwarfs have been playing their home games at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium since the Robert Mensah Stadium was closed down temporarily after the incident.
