“It is human, as players want to improve,” the 48-year-old manager told Radio Rai.

“They have been eyed by some big clubs and it’s difficult to remain indifferent.

“Anyway, I’m sure I can count on mature players. They know their future depends on what they do now.”

Giampaolo also commented on the match, which saw Chievo Verona taking the lead with an early Alberto Paloschi’s opener with the hosts reaching the 1-1 thanks to Lorenzo Tonelli in the second half.

“It was a two-faced game,” the boss said.

“We started with a lack of pace but improved in the second half.”

The draw left Empoli seventh, just four points behind Roma having the Tuscan side only lost once in the last eight fixtures.

“We must work to improve our personality and belief,” Giampaolo added.

“If my players want to move to big teams they must grow in this respect.”
