England-born Eddie Nketiah and Tariq Lamptey switch less complicated

Published on: 09 June 2022

The nationality switch of England-born duo Eddie Nketiah and Tariq Lamptey is less complicated as compared to Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The process to complete the international switch for the duo is pretty a straight forward one as the Ghana FA intensify talks to formalise the paperwork.

Brighton star Tariq Lamptey is in the process of completing his switch to Ghana after traveling to the West African nation for holidays.

He was spotted at the Cape Coast Stadium as his soon-to be Black Stars teammates thrashed Madagascar 3-0 in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier last week.

The right-back is considering switching allegiance from England to Ghana after asking to be exempt from selection for the under-21 squad last month.

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has confirmed his desire to represent Ghana at the international level after being ignored by England's Three Lions.

Ghana FA authorities are far advanced in their move to capture the youngster from England as talks have been held already with the family of the player over the switch.

Despite being the record England U21 goalscorer, Nketiah has been ignored for call-ups into the England senior team.

As he is yet to be capped at senior level for the Three Lions, he is qualified to make the switch and play for Ghana through his family.

The Ghana Football Association has been working around the clock to tie down the England-born trio permanently.

The Ghana FA is desperate to complete the paperwork in time before the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Black Stars have drawn Uruguay, Portugal and South Korea in Group H.
