Al Jazira winger Ernest Asante has expressed delight after earning his maiden Ghana call-up.
The speedy wideman was named in coach Kwesi Appiah’s 24-man squad for the final match of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Harambee Stars of Kenya.
According to the 31-year-old attacker, it has always been his dream to wear the jersey of the Black Stars and stated that his stupendous work got him this far.
“Of course my call-up into the Black Stars team is a dream come true,” Asante told Sportsworldghana.com
“Some people even believe this should have happened long time ago including you interviewing me but I think it has happened at the time God wants.”
Asante joined the United Arab Emirates outfit from Danish side FC Nordsjælland in the 2018 summer transfer window.
He has established himself in the Black and White lads side, scoring 5 goals in 15 in the UAE Arabian Gulf League.
