Al-Fujairah SC winger Ernest Asante is facing an uncertain future at the club as his current contract expires at the end of the season.
The 31-year-old Ghanaian footballer joined the UAE outfit in January 2020 after leaving Saudi Arabia side Al Hazem FC.
Asante has gone ahead to make seven appearances in the UAE top-flight scoring one and assisting one other.
The UAE league is currently awaiting a decision from the football federation on whether to cancel or continue the 2019/2020 season.
Al-Fujairah president Nasser Al Yamahi says decision to extend Asante's contract will be determined if the season is cancelled or not.
"In case of cancellation of the league, we will have a session with Ernest Asante to determine the fate of his continuation during the next season or not. His contract expires at the end of the season." Al Yamahi said.
