Michael Essien will start from the bench for Chelsea in their final the Uefa Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
The Blues hope to finish off the season on a high and also to atone for their 2008 disappointment by beating the German giants at the Alianz Arena on Saturday night.
Essien, 29, has been struggling from first team action since returning from a lengthy injury layoff.
The Ghana international partners Frank Lampard, Champions League rookie Ryan Bertrand, Juan Mata and to form Chelsea’s midfield quartet.
