Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has a strong interest in signing Mason Mount from Chelsea, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.
Mount, who has been highly praised in the past, seems poised to leave Stamford Bridge after spending 18 years at the club.
The Independent reports that Chelsea have set an asking price of £55 million for Mount, which United have yet to meet. However, the Red Devils are said to be leading the race for his signature, with Liverpool and Arsenal also expressing interest in the English international.
Manchester United’s qualification for the Champions League next season could give them an advantage over Liverpool, who will only be competing in the Europa League. Arsenal, on the other hand, may be an appealing choice for Mount as it would allow him to stay in London.
Amid the latest transfer reports, Alex Crook has opened up on Ten Hag’s interest in Mount, saying:
“I think ten Hag has serious interest. I think he’s been an admirer of Mount since he played in the Netherlands at Vitesse and the midfield is an area that still needs some surgery.”
