EURO 2016 – SWEDEN 0-1BELGIUM – Fulltime

Published on: 22 June 2016

After being all level in Sweden and Belgium’s Group E draw at halftime Nainggolan managed to score a stunning 85th minute goal to put Belgium ahead in the dying minutes of the game. As a result, Sweden crash out of the tournament (thanks to the Republic of Ireland’s win over Italy).

Hazard rocketed down the left, and with everyone in the middle waiting for a cross, he sends a pull-back outside of the box. Just as the insults were heading his way, Nainggolan snaps into possession and strikes a powerful shot into the far corner.

Sweden led in possession but Belgium had far more shots and deserved the win.

Zlatan Ibrahimović, Sweden’s talisman may regret his earlier announcement today that he would retire after the Euros as this was not a fitting way to end his illustrious international career.

Belgium now finish second in the group behind Italy and ahead of the Republic of Ireland. Belgium will play Hungary on the weekend.
