Everton switch for Lossl

Published on: 25 May 2019

Everton manager Marco Silva has bolstered his goalkeeping options by agreeing to sign the Huddersfield Town shot-stopper Jonas Lossl.

The 30-year-old Denmark international has penned a pre-contract agreement with Everton and will move to Goodison Park when his deal with the Terriers expires at the end of June.

Lossl, who has agreed a three-year contract with Everton, made 31 Premier League appearances for Town in 2018/19, having initially joined the club on loan from Mainz the previous season.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield have also seen Chris Lowe leave the club as the 30-year-old has completed a permanent transfer to Dynamo Dresden.

Lowe joined Town from Kaiserslautern in the summer of 2016 and made 101 appearances for the club in all competitions in his three seasons in West Yorkshire.

Head coach Jan Siewert said: "Everyone at the club is sad to see Chris leave, but we are happy to have this move sorted so quickly.

"Chris is a good player and a fantastic guy. At 30, he has a young family to consider and, when he told me he wanted to return home this summer, we had to do the right thing for him. Dresden is a great club and is very close to his family home, so the move made sense for everyone.

"He's earned his place in this club's modern history."

Everton are 6/1 to finish in the top six of the Premier League next season.
