Former AC Milan midfielder Angelo Carbone is backing Fabio Capello for the Italy job.
Capello has been linked with the post as Antonio Conte prepares to depart after the Euros.
Carbone told TMW: "I share the thoughts of those who say that Capello is ideal for the national team.
"He's a football man, knows many aspects of the world of football and he would be quite capable of handling the national team.
"He has experience and charisma, knows the languages, moves a lot and keeps up to date. Capello can do very well at the helm of our national team."
