Former Berekum Chelsea coach Van der Pluijm is set to in pole position to be appointed as the head coach of Tanzanian side Yanga SC following the dismissal of Luc Eymael.

Luc Eymael was sacked on Monday for what has been termed as racist comments from the Belgian.

Eymael had also developed a hostile relationship with players and some senior management officials of the team.

A source close to the club in an interview has explained why the Dutch coach is being considered for the job after the sacking of Luc Eymael.

“You know Van der Pluijm has been with the club before and given the tight programme the club is expecting to have in the immediate future, Yanga would contact him soon and see if he is ready for the job,” the source told Goal.

Van der Pluijm has had stints with several Ghana Premier League clubs such as Heart of Lions again, Red Bull Soccer Academy, Kessben FC, Berekum Chelsea and Medeama SC.
