Ex-Black Galaxies coach Kobi Mensah advises Black Stars ahead of 2026 World Cup qualifiers

Ghanaian coach Bismark Kobby Mensah has shared his expertise on what the Black Stars need to do to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to Mensah, who previously served as assistant coach of the Black Galaxies, proper preparation and honest introspection are crucial to the team's success.

Mensah emphasized that the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) should serve as a learning experience, rather than a setback.

"It is possible to qualify for the World Cup. You can never say never, but it comes down to preparations," Mensah said in an interview with Asempa FM.

"We need to have a honest assessment without blame games on why we did not qualify for the AFCON so that we can correct the wrong things and prepare well for the World Cup qualifiers."

With Ghana currently second in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers with nine points, Mensah's advice comes at a critical juncture. The Black Stars will face Chad in their next qualifying match in March 2025.
