Ex-English star Carlton Palmer says Leeds should look into signing Ghana skipper Andre Ayew this summer

Ex-Leeds United star and now television pundit Carlton Palmer believes that Leeds exploring the possibility of signing free agent Andre Ayew this summer could be worthwhile.

Ayew has been one of the standout attackers in the Championship scoring 33 league goals across the last two seasons.

The Ghana captain's goals have helped Swansea qualify for the play-offs on the consecutive seasons.

The Swans announced the departure of the 31-year-old following their defeat to Brentford FC in the play-off having run his contract down in South Wales.

Ayew is available to sign for any club this summer for nothing.

Scottish giants Celtic FC are reportedly keen on landing the 31-year-old.

However, Leeds could hold an advantage due to the fact Ayew has previously played under Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa during their one season together at Olympique Marseille in 2014/2015 campaign.

Leeds have two strikers in their ranks in Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo, but the ex-England midfielder thinks that signing a proven goalscorer like Ayew on a free would be impressive business.
