Ex-French defender Vincent Hognon salutes Boye and Sunzu partnership for FC Metz

Former French defender Vincent Hognon has hailed the defensive partnership of John Boye and Stoppila Sinzu for FC Metz in the French Ligue 2.

The Maroons have the second best defensive record in the division, having conceded 12 goals in 19 games.

Their dominance began in the ongoing campaign when Boye arrived at the club as a free agent from Turkish side Sivasspor, with Sunzu having joined after his two-season loan spell at Arsenal Tula.

"Generally, when you have players of experience and quality, they go well together," says the assistant coach. "John is strong, like me," smiled Sunzu. "We are the same."

"Stoppila is perhaps the biggest, the tough guy, but he'll be more into playing the game. And it's John who uses his physique the most."

The duo have played instrumental roles in Frédéric Antonetti's side as they sit atop of the standings with 44 points in 19 games.
