Ex-Ghana goalie Anue Kofie dies in the US after long battle with stroke
Emmanuel Anue Kofie is dead.

Ex-Ghana goalkeeper Emmanuel Anue Kofie is reported died in New Jersey, USA at age 79.

The former Asante Kotoko gloves man, nicknamed Black Cat passed away on Saturday, 2 May, 2020.

Kofie had to battle stroke the past 13 years.

''Yes my uncle passed on Saturday morning after battling illness for some time. He did not die of COVID-19 as earlier rumoured,'' Kofie's nephew Edward Anue Quarcoo confirmed the news.

Kofie played for the Black Stars between 1966 and 1969 and was also a player of the National Academicals.

He featured for Great Olympics and joined New York Cosmos when he left Asante Kotoko.

Until his sickness, he was the Athlete Counsellor and Recruiter for Essex County College and also the head-coach of Newport Technical High School, all in the US.
