Former Ghana international Frimpong Manso has offered words of advice to Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, urging him to maintain his impressive form and momentum following his debut for the Black Stars.
Asare has had a successful start to his international career, recording clean sheets in Ghana's 5-0 win over Chad and 3-0 win over Madagascar.
Manso, the current head coach of Bibiani Goldstars, believes that Asare's current form is crucial in securing his spot in the national team.
"He's doing well, but for me, he's now entering the squad," Manso said. "Asare has gotten two good games. I hope he keeps his form and momentum before the next international game."
Manso also highlighted the importance of competition in the national team, stating, "There are other good players who are waiting for the opportunity and grab it. So if you get such an opportunity and you don’t do the needful, you are likely to lose that spot."
With Asare expected to be included in the Black Stars squad for the 2025 Unity Cup, Manso believes that maintaining his form could lead to a successful career.
"Asare isn’t a young guy, so if he keeps up with his performance at the national team level and he is able to join the squad to the 2026 World Cup, his career will be very successful," he added.
