Former Hearts of Oak chairman Harry Zakkour is the latest to objected the club’s decision to sack coach CK Akunnor.

The ex Ghana captain was dismissed following a string of poor results in the Premier League.

Akunnor was also alleged to have lost control of his backroom staff and playing body with reports of bickering and infighting at its heights in the team.

He was thus sacked following an emergency meeting of the board on Wednesday after just seven months at the helm.

Just like the outspoken former director of the club, Fawaz Zouk, Zakkour believes Akunnor’s sacking was ill-timed and should be brought back.

“It is a bad time to sack a coach, it is too early,” Zakkour who presided over the club’s most glorious period in the late 90’s and early 2000’s told Joy FM.

“He (current club chairman Togbe Afede XIV) should sit up very well and call the coach to come back to help the assistant since he cannot do the job alone.

“In my time, I brought Jones Attuquayfio but I also brought Osam Duodoo to help out and that is why we were successful.”

Hearts have however handed interim charge of the team to assistant coach Ben Adjei.

He will lead the side out on Sunday against struggling Real Tamale United at the Accra Sports Stadium.
