Video: Ex-Marseille player tips Dede to be greater than Abedi Pele

Published on: 21 September 2010

Former Marseille midfielder Franck Sauzee says Andre Ayew has got the potential of being a better player than his dad Abedi Pele.

Suazee, who played alongside Abedi in the Marseille team of the 1990s, shocked fans of the club following his analysis of the younger Ayew.

Dede has a hard act to follow as his father led the Black Stars with distinction and won the African Player of the Year three times.

Abedi also won the Uefa Champions League with Marseille but Suazee who watched Dede score two goals for Marsielle on Saturday says the youngster has got the potential to surpass his father.

" I really enjoyed watching Andre. I could not make a full analysis of him until Saturday where I watched him closely,” Suazee said.

“This young man is really steeped in quality. There are huge similarities with his father!

“The difference is that Abedi was a phenomenal genius at the top of his game at the age of 28 but Andre is only 20 years. He can go a long way. Very impressive!”

Marseille are pushing for Dede to be more attacking in his play.
