Ex-PSG coach Luis Fernandez: Barcelona must accept decisions favoured them

Published on: 13 March 2017

Former PSG and Espanyol coach Luis Fernandez says Barcelona's amazing victory last week shouldn't hurt the reputation of French football.

PSG's players have been mocked around the world for their Champions League collapse.

But Fernandez says: "Decisions have been contrary on both sides. The penalty of Meunier on Neymar, I would say no. And there's the penalty of Mascherano who acknowledged that he had made a big enough foul on Di Maria.

"It is true that there are quite a number of contentious decisions. It does not mean that PSG has missed out on their game, but they have the right to be respected. They have the right to say that decisions have been made on one side and not on the other. We have to make that known.

"It is a great club and it respects itself. All French clubs must be respected. There must be no benefit for either."
