Ex Sports Minister Rashid Pelpuo has asked the Ghana FA to do more in the area of unearthing more football talents for the various national teams.

The Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament was speaking at the launch of this year's FA Cup Competition on Friday in Accra.

According to Pelpuo, more efforts should be made to sustain the country's first passion by way of producing and churning out more budding talents to serve the national course.

"Football is the number one passion of this country with the second being politics," he said.

"The FA Cup is a good avenue where talents are unearthed and therefore will urge the GFA to bring up more of such competitions to ensure the sustained development of football in the country.

"The importance of football was epitomized recently in the house (Parliament) where statements were made to encourage our young men to do even better to ensure the name of Ghana keeps rising."

This year's FA Cup is epected to kickoff on December 13 and is being sponsored by telecommunication giants MTN.
