Ex West Bromwich Albion scout Kim Grant told to conquer Africa in three years

Accra Hearts of Oak new coach Kim Grant has been tasked to put the club in a respectable place in Africa in three years.

Grant was unveiled as coach of the team on Thursday after signing a three-year deal.

Aside his role as head coach, he will also serve as the club's director of football.

At a press conference in Accra, Grant expressed his delight to be joining the Rainbow Club and that he is hoping to rekindle the side’s glory days.

However Chief Executive Officer of the club Mark Noonan also had this to say;

“The expectations of the club is in three forms that is to beat Kotoko, to win any trophy domestically and to rule Africa, that is the foundation we are building. The expectations of the club has no respecter of the coach in charge this what the foundation stands,” Mark Noonan told the press

During his long playing career, he earned 14 international caps for Ghana and his journey has taken him to 18 professional clubs across Europe, Asia and Africa, He was coached by and worked under some of the top names in the English game, Sam Allardyce, Roy Hodgson, Roberto Di Matteo and Alan Curbishly.

For seven years he worked at the highest levels of English football, having served as Senior Elite Talent Scout for West Bromwich Albion.

His most recent experience comes locally as he was the technical director of Elmina Sharks FC, Sea Lions and Elmina Sharks Academy Head Coach.He has successfully completed his UEFA Pro 'A' Level coaching requirements through the English FA, pending practical observation by the FA.
