Asante Kotoko defender Abeiku Ainooson admits being named the Most Valuable Player and Best Defender for the 2013/2014 MTN FA Cup was least expected.

The former New Edubiase defender beat off stiff competition from Bechem United’s Augustine Okrah to be named best player of the competition.

After helping the Porcupine Warriors to win the league and FA Cup double in his first season, the 2014 CHAN star is satisfied with his achievements so far without a short time.

“To be frank with you Saturday was one of my happiest days on earth,” he told MTNFootball.com

“I felt we had a very good season last time out but that was it, but to be appreciated this way was beyond my expectation.

“It feels good to get reward after hard work but it only tells me I can get even better if I work harder.”
