AC Milan are ready to go toe-to-toe with Fiorentina over the signature of Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan in the ongoing winter transfer window, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively report.

Duncan has been heavily linked with a move to Fiorentina in the past weeks after dropping down the pecking order in US Sassuolo midfield.

Viola coach Beppe Iachinni is reported to be keen to reunite with the 26-year-old at the Artemio Franchi Stadium after working with him during his time at Sassuolo.

But reports gathered by GHANAsoccernet.com suggest that AC Milan are ready to hijack the move after making the Ghanaian their priority this winter.

Milan coach Stefano Pioli wants the former Inter Milan youth product to replace Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie who is on the verge of leaving the club.

However, the Rossoneri will have to match the Ghanaian market value of €20 million before they can snap him up from the Mapei Stadium.

Duncan was acquired for only €6million in 2015, a good deal as he has gone on to solidify Sassuolo’s midfield and act as a foil for more attacking players like Manuel Locatelli and passers like Francesco Magnanelli before the arrival of Pedro Obiang from West Ham United in the summer.

He has registered 5 assists and tallied 1 goal in 13 league games for the Neroverdi in the ongoing campaign.

Duncan is in the final year of his contract with the club.
