EXCLUSIVE: Everton coach Frank Lampard keen on sealing Mohammed Kudus deal

Published on: 24 August 2022

Mohammed Kudus could end up at Everton before the transfer window closes, as Toffees manager Frank Lampard is keen to bring the talented Ghanaian to the Premier League.

Ghanasoccernet understands that Everton and Kudus have agreed on personal terms for a loan move, but Ajax are unwilling to approve the transfer.

Despite Kudus clearly being unhappy at Ajax due to his bench role early in the season, a surprising decision given his pre-season success, Ajax have made it clear that Kudus is not transferable.

The Dutch giants are determined to keep their man, who cost them 9 million euros in 2020.

After last weekend's win over Sparta Rotterdam, Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder stated that the club had three meetings with Ghana international Kudus, who insisted that he deserved to start, adding that he's unaware of Everton's strong interest.

Kudus has come off the bench for all three of Ajax's games this season, totalling less than 30 minutes.

Everton have assured the playmaker that he will be a starter, and Lampard has confirmed this.

Despite Ajax's reluctance, Lampard has not given up and is pressuring the club to persuade Ajax to release the player.

Although Kudus is considered a top talent at Ajax, he has had trouble maintaining a regular spot at Dutch champions mainly due to injuries.

Kudus since joining Ajax has played 46 times for the team, scoring six goals with one recorded last season.

The attacker has 16 international appearances under his belt for Black Stars and scored five goals.
