EXCLUSIVE: Former Ghana youth striker Kwame Karikari signs for Norwegian side Haugesund
Kwame Karikari, formerly of AIK Solna, has moved to Norway

Ghana international Kwame Amponsah Karikari has signed a one-and-half-year contract with Norwegian top-flight side Haugesund, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

The 24-year-old former Inter Allies player arrived in Norway at the weekend and passed a medical before inking the deal on Monday afternoon.

Karikari snubbed a move to Slovak football side MSK Zilina due to failure to agree terms with the former Uefa Champions League campaigners.

The 2011 Ghana U20 striker is eager to get his career back on track after enduring disappointing spells at Halmstad BK and Turkish second-tier league side Balikesirspor.

Haugesund are counting on the former Inter Allies striker to lead their scoring frontier with his reputable image in European competition.

While at AIK Solna, the striker soared his scoring credentials by netting in the Uefa Europa League against Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Russian giants CSKA Moscow in the 2012 competition.

Karikari has joined 2013 Ghana U20 midfielder Derrick Mensah at the club. By El Akyereko Follow the writer on Twitter: @AkyerekOfficial
