The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is preparing to unveil a new official television broadcast partner for the Ghana Premier League, with the deal set to take effect from the 2025/26 season, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Valued at $2 million over two years, the new agreement comes as the league currently lacks a broadcasting partner following the expiration of the GFA’s contract with StarTimes Ghana.

The previous deal, which also covered the FA Cup and the Women’s Premier League, was not renewed due to unresolved financial issues.

StarTimes owes the GFA a total of $950,000, including $180,000 due to the Premier League clubs. According to the terms of the previous contract, each club was entitled to $30,000 per season.

While StarTimes paid the first two instalments, the company failed to fulfil the remainder of its financial commitments.

As the current 2024/25 season nears its conclusion next month, the GFA is expected to officially announce the new broadcaster.

It remains unclear whether the upcoming deal will include coverage of the FA Cup and the Women’s Premier League.
