Ghana defender Kasim Nuhu is set to complete a bumper transfer to German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim in a move worth €10 million, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Swiss champions Young Boys have agreed to release the centre-back for a fee of  €8 million.

The German side will pay an additional â‚¬2 million depending on the number of appearances the powerful defender makes in his first season with Hoffenheim.

The deal has been agreed and the move is expected to be sealed in the coming hours.

Nuhu has been forcing his club to allow him to make the move to Germany after their initial reluctance as they see the centre-back as key to their Champions League plans for next season.

The Ghana international was a key figure for the Berne-based outfit as they clinched their first league trophy in 32 years and wants to continue his career in Germany.

The former Medeama player feels he has made his "contribution", especially after the championship last season.

"It was a great feeling to play for Young Boys and become part of the club's history, but I think it's the right time to start a new chapter elsewhere," Nuhu said.

”I have given Hoffenheim my word that I am ready to play for them in the upcoming season. I feel I have paid my dues at Young Boys especially after helping them win the Super League for the first time in 32 years.

"It’s been an amazing feeling playing for Young Boys and also being part of the club’s history but I think this is the right time for me to open a new chapter elsewhere.”

He made 32 appearances and scored two goals in the Swiss Super League for Young Boys last term.
