Ghana defender Nicholas Opoku will undergo medical at Amiens SC after the French Ligue 1 side agreed an 18-month loan deal with Udinese, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively report.
Opoku has not been consistent since joining the Zebrette from Tunisian giants Club African in 2018.
The central guardsman has been sparingly used by gaffer Luca Gotti and his predecessor Igor Tudor.
Last week, Ghana's leading football website exclusively reported that French club Amiens SC had began discussions with the Turin-based outfit over the possibility of signing the 22-year-old on an initial loan deal.
Reports coming in today indicate that the two clubs have reached an agreement over a year-and-eight-month loan deal with the option to buy.
Amiens will pay â¬500,000 for the loan deal and would have to pay a sum of around â¬5 million to exercise the buy option.
However, the deal would only be possible if the Unicorns retain their French Ligue status at the end of the season.
Opoku will fly to France on Thursday to undergo his mandatory medical test.
The former Berekum Chelsea captain could be named in the squad for the trip to Stade Brestois on Saturday.
He has made 10 appearances in all competitions for Udinese this term.
