Ghana and Hannover 96 forward Patrick Twumasi has been sent into a two weeks quarantine, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report.

The player is experiencing 'slightly increased' temperatures which has forced the club to quarantine him for the next 14 days.

Twumasi is not showing any symptoms of COVID-19 but as part of the club's strict protocols, initial tests carried out means his preseason delays for two weeks.

"The DFL's hygiene and safety concept that we are implementing has worked well here," says 96 sports director Marcus Mann. "We were also able to quickly clarify all relevant questions in exchange with the health department."

Hannover 96 have started preseason as they seek a return to the Bundesliga.

The Bundesliga II side have lined up friendly matches against Paderborn, Arminia Bielefield, Hertha Berlin and FC Magderburg.

Their season begins with a trip to relegated Werder Bremen.

Patrick Twumasi joined Hannover last season from Deportivo Alaves on a three year deal.
