Published on: 21 September 2021

Ghanaian defender Yakubu Mohammed is headed to Ethiopia to sign for Sidama Coffee FC, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

The 25-year-old centre back is expected to arrive in Ethiopia on Tuesday evening to complete his move on a free transfer.

Mohammed will undergo his medical examination and subsequently sign a one-year renewable contract on Wednesday.

The former Ghana U20 left Tanzanian side Azam FC after the 2020/2021 season came to an end after spending five years at the club.

Mohammed joined Azam in December 2016 from Ghana Premier League club Aduana Stars after just one impressive campaign.

He played for Tema Youth FC before moving to Aduana in July 2015.

Mohammed recently received his very first Ghana national team invitation for international friendlies against Mali and Qatar in Turkey.
