EXCLUSIVE: Ghanaian midfielder Bennard Kumordzi fails doping test in Belgium
Bennard Kumordzi has tested positive for a banned substance

Ghanaian midfielder Bennard Kumordzi has has tested positive for a banned substance while undergoing routine doping tests in Belgium, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The midfielder, who plays for top-flight side Kv Kortrijk, received the result of the tests which come as a shock to the hard tackling players with no disciplinary problems in the past.

He tested positive for THC, a psychoactive substance in cannabis, which has led to the huge problem for the former Black Stars player.

The Ghana star, who has not played for the Black Stars for some time now, says that he has not consciously taken the substance.

Kumordzi is likely to be suspended by his club in the coming hours but hopes to prove his value to the club again as soon as possible after his suspension.

During his suspension he will continue to work for the club and will remain active with the senior team.
